Frequently asked questions
What is stage hypnosis?
A form of participatory entertainment in which volunteers from the audience become the protagonists. It has no therapeutic purpose: Harry Covert is neither a hypnotherapist nor a healthcare practitioner, and does not work in any clinical setting.
Can hypnosis be booked on its own?
No. It is woven into a performance combining close-up magic, mentalism and stage magic. That combination allows the evening to be shaped around your audience size and running order rather than resting on a single discipline.
Do you lose control?
No. A volunteer stays aware of what they are doing, may decline any suggestion, and can stop taking part at any moment.
Does Harry Covert use stooges in the audience?
No. Volunteers are drawn from the people present, with no prior preparation. As one client wrote, after a family evening: "No outside helpers, just our family."
Can I watch without taking part?
Yes. Only those who put themselves forward come up. The rest of the room watches without being called on.
At what point in the evening does hypnosis happen?
During a cocktail reception, it emerges as Harry moves between groups, when the moment allows. On stage, it forms one sequence among others, usually once the audience has settled.
Which cities does Harry Covert travel to?
The core of his work falls within roughly 200 kilometres of Annecy: Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Geneva and French-speaking Switzerland, Lyon, Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains, Grenoble and the Genevois region, along with the mountain resorts : Courchevel, Megève, Val d'Isère, Chamonix, La Clusaz.
Does Harry Covert perform in Paris?
Yes. Paris and the Île-de-France are part of his regular range, as is the rest of France. Travel and accommodation are quoted in advance and included in the proposal.
Does Harry Covert perform abroad?
Bookings outside France are arranged according to format, scheduling and travel logistics. French-speaking Switzerland is part of his regular activity.
